Welcome to the future, of mobile, the cloud, and Google is bringing us there.

Ever since Apple denied Google’s, Google Voice App, Google and Apple have been slowly drifting apart. This hasn’t been entirely in Google’s favor, but  it stopped Google from being a software company, it kept Google’s focus on the Cloud. Keeping Google’s applications agnostic, hardware free.

Since Apple will essentially deny many of Google’s major applications, for features that “duplicate” existing standard features, Google instead has begun to build applications without flash using HTML 5, and Javascript, creating applications that will be able to run on any modern browser, mobile or desktop.

By doing this, Google is able to bypass the App Store dictatorship and create apps that are available everywhere and anywhere.

Soon after Google’s, “Voice” application was deleted for “duplicating” existing features, Google decided to faithfully recreate the app using HTML 5 and Javascript.

The application allows you free texting, and even calling from your Google Voice number, but this is old news.

Now Google is taking a step forward and has written an HTML 5 version of it’s mobile Youtube site. Which tout’s a “full” Youtube experience vs iPhone’s outdate system that even uses the 5 star rating system still.

iPhone’s native application has been written for the edge network, so it does not allow “HQ” over the air and is severely outdated, but now that we are using the 3g network and even 4g in some cases, the native application needs updating. But Apple is not likely to push out an update.

Where Youtube’s HTML 5 application really shines, is in it’s ability to play HQ youtube over 3g, altogether skipping Apple’s tyrannic app store.

Google is bringing us into the future of mobile applications, the cloud.

Google’s new applications are more than just proof of concepts, but they are some of the most functional applications out there for free.

Welcome to the future, of mobile, the cloud, and Google is bringing us there.
